Barnaby – Figma, Prototyping, UI/UX
Barnaby is a senior Product Owner/Manager with 20+ years in digital products. He moved from UX/UI design and creative direction into end-to-end product ownership across eCommerce, SaaS, marketplaces and hardware. He pairs discovery, backlog and roadmap ownership with hands-on UX and AI rapid prototyping (v0, Lovable, Figma Make) on modern stacks like Next.js and Supabase. On an executive-education eCommerce redesign, his UX and conversion strategy doubled conversion from 1% to 2% and revenue from $2.5M to $5M. He owns the client relationship, validates demand before building, and is at his best negotiating trade-offs directly with founders on small, 0-to-1 products!

Senior Product Owner / Product Manager
A national online directory of social-care services in the UK, covering 104,000+ organizations. It helps families find care and support, gives local-authority commissioners a view of the services available, and lets providers manage their own listings. The platform replaced a legacy PHP system with a modern web app that has search, a provider member area, an admin panel and an AI support agent.
- Owned the rebuild of a 104,000+ organization social-care directory end to end, from the founder’s early vision through AI-built prototypes, design, development and database migration to release. The legacy PHP system was replaced over six milestones.
- Merged three separate registration journeys into a single account flow with role-based branching, which increased sign-ups and lowered bounce rate.
- Defined the product vision and backlog for three audiences (families, commissioners, providers) and ran weekly client reviews after each sprint.
- Validated the concept with rapid prototypes in Lovable and then v0, and moved it into production on Next.js, Vercel and Supabase with Rybbit analytics.
- Checked feasibility with developers when the client asked mid-project for inline profile editing, and agreed a solution that didn’t derail the codebase.
- Ran hands-on QA and UAT, launched a Featurebase AI support agent, and scoped the next AI phases.
Senior Product Owner / Creative Director
A rugged, phone-free handheld device for people who want to stay connected without a smartphone. It runs on a peer-to-peer mesh network with a voice-driven operating system, where an AI agent completes tasks through voice commands. The product combines custom hardware, an OS-level design system and a marketing website, and is preparing launches on several crowdfunding platforms.
- Led product and creative direction for a combined hardware and software device. He worked with the founder to refine the product vision and defined the AI agent’s voice-command journey, the OS design system and the architecture.
- Designed the UX/UI for the voice-driven operating system.
- Hired and managed the industrial designers who produced the CAD models and photorealistic Blender renders.
- Replaced the initial brand concepts with his own mark, which combines an ancient Nordic symbol with a peer-to-peer node motif. The client adopted it as the final identity.
- Delivered the one-page marketing site that supports the crowdfunding campaigns now in progress.
Senior UX/UI & Product Designer / UX Lead
An eCommerce platform for an executive-education provider that sells professional programs to individual learners and to organizations training their teams. The previous store pushed both buyer types through one journey, which made purchasing confusing. The redesigned store on Adobe Commerce separates the individual and organizational purchase paths, gives each its own payment flow, and meets WCAG AA/AAA accessibility standards.
- Led UX and conversion strategy for the eCommerce redesign. Conversion doubled from 1% to 2%, revenue grew from $2.5M to $5M, purchases rose 204% and add-to-carts rose 1,311%.
- Split the information architecture into separate journeys for individual and organizational buyers and defined the payment journey for each.
- Designed the full UI to WCAG AA/AAA standards.
- Clarified requirements with the developers and QA teams through to release.
Senior UX/UI & Product Designer
A two-sided childcare marketplace that connects parents with babysitters and nannies. Parents search profiles and message sitters, and the business earns through paid subscriptions. The platform was later acquired by a larger European childcare company.
- Redesigned the conversion journeys on both sides of the marketplace, moving the paywall from the first search to the moment a sitter replies, so parents see value before they pay.
- Ran user research and defined four personas covering parents and sitters.
- Rebuilt the information architecture for search and messaging.
Senior UX/UI Designer
An eCommerce store for a US planner and stationery brand with a large product catalogue, migrated to Shopify.
- Designed the IA, the filterable catalogue and the Shopify migration templates.
- Designed to WCAG AA/AAA accessibility standards.
