Lead Developer
ShirleyOS is an AI-native sales platform that uses adaptive computing to help sales teams understand customers and close deals faster.
The platform has an in-house long-term AI memory mechanism that builds a graph of interconnected customer and behavioral data. It uses this memory to enrich responses and route prompts, answering from accumulated knowledge when possible and invoking an external LLM when necessary. Sales agents receive AI-generated coaching messages during customer conversations and can provide feedback directly through the application, feeding the system's memory and subsequent responses.
- Owned development across the frontend, backend, AI integrations and cloud infrastructure.
- Implemented and integrated functionality around the AI memory and prompt-routing mechanisms, including integration with external LLM providers.
- Implemented product functionality for delivering AI-generated coaching and product recommendations to sales agents during live customer conversations.
- Implemented the human feedback loop, allowing sales agents to provide feedback on AI-generated coaching directly in the application.
- Used direct sales-agent feedback and incoming customer-interaction data to improve the information available to subsequent AI processing and responses.
- Worked on the production AI-powered sales workflow from product concepts and prototypes through implementation and deployment.
- Delivered a production system used throughout the working day by all sales agents of a client (~7 people).
- Contributed to a production system that increased sales by several percent and reduced sales-agent workload through AI-powered coaching and product recommendations.
- Collected qualitative feedback directly from sales agents; agents reported that the AI assistance made their work easier and improved their experience.
- Optimized distributed backend services, reducing response times by over 50%.
- Designed and maintained GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing and deployments.
- Used LLM-powered development workflows to accelerate software development and product delivery.
Senior Front-end Developer
FM.co is a marketplace for short-film content, serving customers purchasing and licensing creative content.
- Designed and implemented Google Sign-In, increasing new-user sign-ups by 3x.
- Worked on the modernization of a legacy application, defining a migration path toward a more maintainable architecture.
- Translated product requirements into production frontend functionality and coordinated the migration approach with the existing application constraints.
Technical Leader
A customer-facing platform for scheduling and managing apartment tours, including access management, agent assignment and customer feedback. The platform depended on external providers for apartment access and door-lock operations, creating reliability, synchronization and failure-handling challenges.
- Served as the primary technical interface for the client, receiving and clarifying feature requests and translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Evaluated the technical feasibility, effort, timelines and required engineering resources for requested features and changes.
- Worked directly with the client and Scrum Master to prioritize and plan delivery and coordinated implementation with a 4-person engineering team.
- Led development of the booking application and owned the frontend and backend architecture.
- Translated ambiguous or incomplete requirements into concrete technical designs and implementation plans, working with legacy code, incomplete documentation and tight deadlines.
- Designed and implemented a migration from a legacy service hub to a modern middle-tier service architecture.
- Designed retry, failure-isolation and synchronization mechanisms to protect the application from unreliable external access and door-lock providers.
- Owned delivery of features from requirements through implementation and production deployment.
Co-founder & CTO
Co-founded and served as CTO of a telemedicine startup focused on mental healthcare. The platform operated four customer-facing web applications covering medicine sales, electronic prescriptions, doctor appointments and online health evaluations, plus a back-office system. The product was live with paying customers.
- Owned the technology strategy and end-to-end delivery from business requirements through production.
- Worked directly with the CEO and business stakeholders to translate product requirements into technical scope, architecture and implementation plans.
- Defined the technology stack, physical architecture, business architecture, data model and APIs.
- Designed and implemented a cloud-native backend based on AWS Lambda and serverless microservices, with asynchronous communication through SQS, SNS and related AWS services.
- Designed and implemented integrations with payment and electronic-signature providers, including the associated API and workflow handling.
- Built and tested production functionality across the platform and provided ongoing technical support.
- Managed and coordinated other developers while remaining hands-on with architecture and implementation.
- Designed the platform with the security and operational requirements of a healthcare product in mind.
Senior Software Engineer Manager
A real-time electronic bank-transfer platform serving 2M+ users and processing approximately $350,000 USD in daily transfers. The business needed to replace a third-party EFT provider because of periodic unavailability and race conditions that caused transaction losses.
The main goal included migration away from a 3rd party provider of electronic funds transfers (EFT) to an in-house solution in order to mitigate losses related to race conditions and periodic unavailability of their service, as well as an architecture with built-in contingency solutions.
- Defined and owned the business and technical architecture for replacing the external transfer provider with an in-house solution.
- Led a 5-person engineering team through the design and implementation of the new platform.
- Designed the system around the requirements of real-time financial transactions, including transaction reversals, race-condition prevention and failure/contingency handling.
- Eliminated the business dependency on the unreliable external provider.
- Reduced losses by approximately $50,000 per month on average.
- Remained hands-on in the implementation while owning the architectural direction and engineering delivery.
Frontend Lead & Architect
Wholemeaning, now Wird.ai, is a Chilean technology company developing a natural-language-processing platform. Dominik led the modernization and continued development of Wholemeaning's core web applications and supporting services. Owned the company's principal web-based data visualization application, representing approximately 81% of total revenue, while also leading a broader migration from a legacy frontend stack to a modern architecture and developing a browser extension for Gmail and Outlook 365.
- Proposed and led the modernization of Wholemeaning's legacy enterprise platform, replacing a Grails/Groovy backend and HTML/jQuery frontend with a modern Kotlin backend and React/TypeScript frontend.
- Presented the modernization case to the CTO, planned the transition and drove execution while working to build buy-in among the development team.
- Identified architectural limitations in the legacy platform and defined the target architecture and migration approach.
- Authored and validated high-level front-to-back architecture, including REST APIs, data-access abstractions and authentication.
- Created a REST API framework that automated and accelerated API creation by approximately 90%.
- Took technical ownership of the company's principal and most valuable web-based data visualization application, representing approximately 81% of total revenue.
- Maintained and progressively modernized inherited code, modularizing the application and making the implementation of new business features approximately 50% faster.
- Designed and implemented REST frameworks in Kotlin and TypeScript, approximately halving the development time of new APIs.
- Designed and led implementation of 6 of the application's 8 business modules.
- Designed and developed a Gmail and Outlook 365 browser extension from scratch, owning the project from technical design and proof of concept through technology selection, implementation and testing.
- Implemented the Outlook 365 extension in C# and delivered it on schedule before handing it over to another developer.
- Built automated Puppeteer-based monitoring/testing for web applications.
