A healthcare claims-processing platform for one of the largest US health insurers. Claims enter through internal form applications and are validated, searched, and routed by a set of event-driven backend microservices. The platform runs on Azure Kubernetes Service and integrates with internal systems over Azure Service Bus.

• Design and build backend microservices in Node.js, TypeScript, and Java on PostgreSQL, owning SQL efficiency, migrations, and transaction handling.
• Built event-driven integrations on Azure Service Bus and improved claim search capabilities with Elasticsearch.
• Proposed and drove splitting overloaded Azure Functions into smaller single-responsibility functions to reduce side effects when changing or fixing code.
• Introduced feature flags around third-party dependencies, enabling quick rollback when an integration fails.
• Containerized services with Docker and deployed them to AKS, with CI/CD codified in GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Exposed versioned, documented REST APIs, improved observability with metrics and structured logging, and represented technical planning to the PM and PO when the Tech Lead was away.

The digital platform behind a European media group's music and radio brands. It ran on aging infrastructure (CentOS servers, Node 14, and VirtualBox-virtualized workloads) that was hard to maintain and approaching end of support. The project modernized the platform's runtime, frameworks, and deployment model while keeping live services running.

• Migrated the platform's applications from CentOS to Fedora and upgraded Node.js from 14 to 20, bringing all frameworks to their latest versions.
• Moved virtualized workloads from VirtualBox to Docker containers, standardizing how services are built and run.
• Refactored NestJS and React components during the upgrade and added test coverage where it was missing.
• Covered both full-stack development and DevOps on the migration, working with AWS, Kafka, Elasticsearch, and PostgreSQL.

A consumer personal-finance platform where millions of US users compare and open banking and investment products. The Banking & Investment area helps users evaluate savings, checking, and brokerage accounts through product pages, side-by-side comparisons, and guided flows. The platform earns revenue through partner product recommendations.

• Built end-to-end features for the Banking & Investment product area across the React/Next.js front end, GraphQL layer, and Node.js services.
• Developed accessible, reusable frontend components shared across banking and investment product pages.
• Troubleshot production issues across the stack using Datadog monitoring on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Took part in regular code reviews, keeping code quality consistent across the team's codebase.

An automated cryo-storage system for IVF clinics that have traditionally tracked frozen eggs and embryos by hand, putting irreplaceable specimens at risk. It combines robotic storage hardware with a software dashboard that identifies, tracks, and audits every specimen throughout its lifecycle, providing clinic staff with a reliable chain of custody.

• Built dashboard components and new features for the clinic-facing specimen-tracking interface in Vue, Vuex, and TypeScript.
• Supported live demos of the robotic storage system for clinics and stakeholders.
• Reviewed code and troubleshot UI issues across the dashboard.

A web platform for the sales operations of a US commercial solar energy developer. It calculates pricing for solar projects, tracks and controls orders, and generates sales orders, bringing the sales workflow into a single application.

• Defined the platform's architecture and built it as a new application with a Node.js/Express API, PostgreSQL, and a React/Redux front end.
• Built, optimized, and maintained all API endpoints that run the complex pricing calculations behind each sales order.
• Wrote unit tests, ran client demos, and conducted code reviews.
