Software Development Expert
The client was a global supplier of embedded and connected software products and services for the automotive industry. Their solutions cater to the needs of these companies by providing the software foundation necessary for modern automotive systems, ensuring reliability, safety, and efficiency. Karen worked on Android-based in-car infotainment systems for top German and Japanese car manufacturers, including concept and prototype models not yet on the market.
Karen's main responsibilities included the following:
- built parts of next-generation automotive cockpit demonstrator for CES-2024;
- worked on the IVI system of a new car manufacturer based on the Android Automotive OS;
- participated in building company-wide Android development architectural policies;
- took part in refining the development process;
- conducted internal tech talks and knowledge sharing regarding Android app architecture and technologies.
Lead Mobile Engineer
This app was a video-based practice platform that provided teams a safe place to practice responding to workplace scenarios. It allowed users to record and review their responses, receive feedback, and refine their skills in a controlled environment. By simulating real-life situations, the app helped improve communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, ultimately enhancing overall workplace performance and confidence.
Karen's duties included the following, among others:
- was the only mobile developer on the project, driving both iOS and Android app development;
- took over the existing iOS app, built new features and replaced some outdated technologies with the latest ones, deployed to the App Store;
- fully developed the Android app from scratch using modern Android tools and frameworks: managed architecture, development and deployment to the Play Store.
Senior Software Engineer
The client was a company focused on creating digital solutions and services for their commercial group. This particular center specialized in developing innovative digital products, including mobile and web applications, that enhanced the functionality and user experience of Liebherr's various equipment and machinery. Their goal was to integrate advanced technologies to improve efficiency, connectivity, and customer service across their product range, which includes construction machinery, mining equipment, and household appliances.
Karen worked on the Android apps of the Home Appliances division: a smart assistant and a service application that allowed maintenance and diagnostic tasks to be executed.
Among others, Karen carried out the following tasks:
- chapter led of the service apps department (iOS and Android);
- built, maintained and deployed the Android app alone;
- defined architectural approach to developing mobile apps in the company;
- managed technology and knowledge sharing through tech talks.
Senior Software Engineer
An app that helped users simulate driving electric and hybrid vehicles in their daily routine and built trust in electric cars, overcoming range anxiety. The app also drove leads toward the electric vehicles that Mercedes-Benz offered.
*The app is not on the app stores anymore because of the larger adoption of electric cars and infrastructure improvements in recent years.
Karen's primary responsibilities included the following:
- paired with another engineer, built the iOS app from the ground up;
- managed integration with various partners aiming to provide sensor and movement data.

Worked on different projects related to infotainment solutions for Audi and other Volkswagen Group brands (Porsche, Bentley, etc):
- Audi Tablet
- Audi Rear Seat Remote
- Software prototypes and demos
- Built Android-based software for several new hardware devices: Audi Tablet, Audi Rear Seat Remote;
- Modified AOSP itself for IVI systems;
- Worked on different software prototypes and demos for IVI systems as part of the innovations team .
