Senior Software developer / Technical Lead / Head of DX
This is the largest and most complex project that's been under the developer's supervision as a technical lead. It started over in 2018 from a 2-man team and expanded to over 50 people and continues to grow. The product has 2 separate SAAS platforms with a different set of features, the PRO version being the more advanced one. They both provide an excellent energy monitoring solution to help businesses cut out energy waste and optimize their energy consumption and operational efficiencies.
- Currently, the Lite version is built on the Next.js / React stack, and the PRO version is on the Nuxt.js / Vue stack.
- Both are connected to a set of APIs built on top of a microservices architecture that is standing mostly on a Node.js stack, some using Express and others using Adonis.js.
- On the dev-ops side, it is using Docker and Kubernetes with CI/CD on Google Cloud. Using Git for version control, Bitbucket and Jira's Scrum board for project management.
There is a variety of features and capabilities:
- client authentication, authorization and CMS-like features for CRUD operations on database entities
- fetch, store and analyze big data from IOT devices and 3rd party APIs
- various algorithms solving an array of requirements, like CO2 emissions, cost, NET Zero efficiency and more
- dashboard with a set of data tables and charts for data display, both from the past and in real-time
- gas, electricity, water consumption and monitoring module
- alerts, scheduled jobs, reports module
- Made sure that the applications scale up nicely with new features and requirements, without cutting performance or creating technical debt;

This is a part-time / hobby project meant to transform his family's hardware store into an online shop and possibly a marketplace. It's helping the business do better by creating a new channel of communication and engagement with customers.

The front end is built using the new React framework - Remix. On the backend, it has a WordPress application, which acts as a headless CMS. WP is built with modern tools from Roots - Bedrock and Sage, those making it a hybrid with Laravel, the best PHP framework. On top of WP, it also has WooCommerce for shopping capabilities and GraphQL. The frontend client communicates with WP via GraphQL queries. Between the front-end client and CMS, he has a caching layer and proxy - the backend of Remix, which is Nodejs.
