Technical Lead II
An enterprise SaaS pricing platform that enables large organisations to configure complex pricing rules, calculate customer-specific prices and manage pricing workflows across multiple services. I was a technical lead on a team that worked on the pricing system and a portion of the front end.
- Brought into a delayed enterprise pricing platform to stabilise delivery and accelerate progress toward production readiness
- Took ownership of the most complex business logic and system workflows across services
- Redesigned a database-heavy calculation path as an in-memory Java processing pipeline, delivering more than a 10× performance improvement.
- Refactored a legacy tuple-based read/write workflow, reducing end-to-end processing time from approximately 30 minutes to 2 minutes.
- Introduced AI-assisted engineering workflows using Codex for repository analysis, implementation, refactoring, testing and deep debugging, including the migration of a Java worker to TypeScript.
- Created reusable Codex skills and configured a secure Model Context Protocol server with restricted, read-only PostgreSQL access for schema inspection and datastore-level debugging.
- Developed deep expertise in the data model and configuration, becoming a primary point of contact for diagnosing cross-system issue diagnosis
- Played a key role in delivering the first production-ready release of the platform
- Led a hackathon-winning team that built a tool transforming customer transaction history into structured metadata, enabling immediate data visualisation and pricing adjustments
Technical Lead
A configuration management system for an enterprise SaaS platform that enabled seamless migration of tenant configurations across environments. The solution streamlined configuration management, significantly reducing migration time from days to hours while improving the reliability and efficiency of deployment workflows.
- Led a distributed EU/US team building a tenant configuration migration platform for a microservice-based SaaS system.
- Delivered services, workers, and an OClif CLI that reduced configuration moves between environments from days to hours.
- Designed and implemented an integration layer for consistent configuration and data movement across multiple microservices.
- Supported preview, dependency handling, full bundle deployments, artefact-level deployments, and individual configuration deployments.
- Worked closely with architecture, product, QA, and internal users to define scope, validate designs, and support adoption.
- Acted as the main escalation point for migration tooling issues across services, data, and infrastructure.
Senior Software Engineer
An enterprise SaaS pricing platform that enables large organisations to configure complex pricing rules, calculate customer-specific prices and manage pricing workflows across multiple services.
- Worked on a large-scale enterprise pricing platform made up of 40+ Java-based microservices integrated with a legacy monolith and Salesforce.
- Built backend services in Java and contributed frontend features using Angular and React-based UIs.
- Helped modernise workflow configuration management by moving from a Salesforce Visualforce/SObject/SQL Server flow to Java APIs backed by PostgreSQL and a Salesforce Lightning UI.
- Built ETL-style workers to move data from Redshift and SQL Server into Aurora, with a focus on repeatable execution and data correctness.
- Helped migrate legacy ECS/SWF polling workers to an AWS Step Functions based execution model.
- Supported critical production incidents, root-cause analysis, technical interviews, mentoring, and stand-in Technical Lead duties.
Software Engineer
A rules engine and campaign management platform that allowed marketing teams to define customer eligibility criteria and target promotional offers without needing support from the engineering team.
- Worked as a full stack developer mainly concentrated on Java and Angular but also some .NET and jQuery.
- Developed and maintained backend web services as part of an agile team using Java and Spring MVC for a website which allowed customers to compare the price of ink across multiple resellers.
- Implemented the design of an internal rules engine system mainly used by the business to determine customer eligibility for special offers.
- Designed the system to replace a legacy rules engine system.
- Enabled the business to create rules using a simple user interface so they could create online marketing campaigns without contacting the IT team for help.
- Worked on a printer comparison system for the business intelligence team built using .NET WebAPI and Angular 4.
- Enabled the BI team to compare the features of multiple printers simultaneously.
Software Engineer Intern
An internal suite of applications used by QA teams to test and validate enterprise services. The platform streamlined test execution, improved quality assurance workflows, and supported efficient verification of product functionality before release.
- Worked as part of a development team maintaining and improving online printing services.
- Learned how to integrate websites with a number of HP web services to create an excellent customer experience.
- Developed a number of applications for testing web services using MVC.
- Developed a reporting application with a login system using MVC and Entity Framework.
- Allowed users to search for hits on an HP website during a certain timeframe by querying a database and summarised the results in an interactive graph.
- Developed software using WPF which simulated a printer to be used by QA for testing.
- Allowed users to enter various information about the printer and send it to an HP web service.
- Checked the received response against a stored expected response and showed discrepancies to the user.
- Allowed users to create and execute a run of tests at the click of a button and notified them of pass or fail results.
- Gained experience in bringing a project from development through to Quality and Security control.
