Yuri – AWS, GCP, Kubernetes

An internal application used by Boston Consulting Group's consultants. Yuri was responsible for the development, maintenance, and evolution of the AWS and Kubernetes platform supporting the application across the full software lifecycle, with a focus on infrastructure automation, CI/CD, application delivery, security, scalability, observability, and platform reliability.

• Managed and maintained AWS infrastructure for an internally used application using Terraform with CircleCI and Terraform Cloud.
• Migrated services from ECS and Fargate to EKS to optimize costs.
• Developed and maintained ephemeral pull request environments in the same infrastructure as the main application.
• Designed and maintained GitHub Actions pipelines for CI/CD, including reusable workflows and Terraform module tagging.
• Deployed and managed ArgoCD as a GitOps tool across environments.
• Consolidated multiple services from different teams into a unified Kubernetes cluster.
• Implemented secrets versioning using AWS Secrets Manager and SOPS.
• Strengthened application security by implementing AWS WAF and configuring Kong Gateway plugins and policies.
• Deployed and configured KEDA, Karpenter, and Datadog to improve scaling, provisioning, and observability.
• Developed and maintained Helm charts with integrated CI/CD pipelines, versioning, and documentation.

Yuri supported a large enterprise client in the development and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and observability platforms. The project focused on building and automating GCP-based Kubernetes infrastructure, implementing centralized logging and tracing, and establishing CI/CD workflows to support reliable and scalable application delivery.

• Provisioned and maintained GKE clusters on GCP with Terraform to host OpenTelemetry Collector and Loki, centralizing application logs and traces.
• Used cdk8s with Typescript for Kubernetes manifest generation.
• Utilized GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation.
• Designed and maintained GitHub Actions pipelines for CI/CD, including reusable workflows and Terraform module tagging.

Yuri focused on automation, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability for Adobe Commerce and Platform.sh environments. The project involved improving deployment processes, automating development and infrastructure workflows, implementing monitoring and dashboards, and evaluating cloud-native architectures across AWS and Azure using Kubernetes and Terraform.

• Served as the focal point for the DevOps team, spearheaded automation processes for Platform.sh and Magento Cloud projects, Bitbucket pipelines, Grafana, and New Relic.
• Collaborated on projects to establish and maintain deployment pipelines in Jenkins and Bitbucket.
• Authored dozens of Bash shell script automations.
• Engineered scripts to speed up local Adobe Commerce instance startup using Docker and Docker Compose.
• Established monitoring systems for microservices using Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki.
• Designed Grafana dashboards and automated their deployment across three environments using Terraform.
• Established New Relic configuration on newly deployed Adobe Commerce instances and integrated dashboards created through Terraform automation.

Yuri focused on the infrastructure automation, deployment, and maintenance of modern web applications. He was responsible for designing and provisioning cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform, building scalable CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, and supporting application delivery across multiple environments while contributing to front-end and back-end development.

• Developed and sustained React and Node.js SPA applications.
• Used AWS Amplify for the initial application deployment.
• Crafted a complete AWS infrastructure using Terraform, Lambda Functions, Python, Node.js Layers, API Gateway, EC2, and ECR.
• Automated processes through Bash shell script, Groovy, and Python.
• Created Jenkins pipelines to execute Terraform in various AWS environments.
• Introduced new features and oversaw maintenance tasks for the developed applications.

A large-scale deployment modernization initiative at Mastercard. Yuri migrated over 90 applications across seven environments to Chef Habitat, driving infrastructure automation, developing custom deployment hooks, automating Jenkins CI/CD pipelines with Groovy, and providing production-level troubleshooting and platform support to engineering teams throughout the transition.

• Led the migration of the deployment method from Saltstack and Stackstorm to Chef Habitat for more than 90 applications across seven environments.
• Contributed to migration decision-making processes.
• Developed key Bash shell script hooks for Chef Habitat application deployments.
• Automated the generation of numerous Jenkins pipelines using Groovy to ensure deployment tracking.
• Supported development teams throughout the migration.
• Troubleshot deployment issues related to Chef Habitat during multiple production releases.

Feature development, maintenance, and elevated support of a core legacy application at Mastercard. Yuri focused on designing and delivering new application capabilities, engineering custom Shell scripts to automate operational workflows, and diagnosing complex production and deployment issues. He also spearheaded the transition of deployment pipelines from Bamboo to Jenkins, improving delivery efficiency while providing critical level-1 technical support to ensure application reliability.

• Served as a developer and level-1 support for a legacy application within Mastercard, with primary responsibilities encompassing the development and deployment of new features. Addressed and resolved issues that other support levels could not handle.
• Authored multiple Shell scripts to automate various processes within the application.
• Conducted troubleshooting for problems related to deployment and application behavior.
• Managed deployments initially on Bamboo, later transitioning to Jenkins for enhanced efficiency.
